An International Workshop is organized by National Institute of Science and Technology Policy (NISTEP), Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) on 1st March 2018. Those who would like to participate in the workshop should register the name and affiliation using e-mail by 23 February 2018.

Objectives
There are both hope and anxiety to dramatically social changes due to the digitalization such as diffusion of artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of things (IoT). In addition, as methodologies for innovation and scientific research activities become “Open” in these days, measures and platforms of science, technology and Innovation (STI) are about to change its’ qualities.

Mr. Dominique Guellec (DSTI-OECD) is invited to the workshop in order to introduce the “Digital Innovation and AI” work of OECD. The workshop is arranged to provide opportunities to think about the trends of social impacts by digitalization from both qualitative and quantitative aspects; i.e. measures in S&T foresight and open science in AI/IoT fields, and metrics for scientific knowledge in AI/IoT fields.

Under the transformation of situations in which science and innovation co-relate synchronically, possible future of STI policies such as industry-academia co-operation and STI policy implications are discussed among the participants.
